Dj 2much made a name for himself on the Stockholm underground scene as a dude who was ready for anything, anytime, anywhere. If a rapper had a show and needed a skillful Dj to step up with short notice, 2much was that dude. If you needed some fresh cuts on your track you knew exactly who to call. It all started out in the late 90′s when he got introduced to the Dj game by the legendary discophile Mika Snikars and later on he was mentored by the still untouchable Scandinavian Dj crew Scratchaholics. He learned the trade from real craftsmen which gave him endurance and longevity. These days you can find him 12 years deep in the entertainment biz Djing at the finest clubs and backing some of the hottest artists in Sweden. Artists such as Ken Ring, Pato Pooh, Stor, just to name a few. He has also warmed up for international acts such as 50 cent, Fat Joe, M.O.P. Rick Ross and The Game and he was tour Dj for American rapper Saigon on his European tour. And of course you’re not a real Dj if you haven’t put in work in the mixtape game. 2much has done exactly that, he’s had plenty of tapes out and plenty on the the way.
We met Dj 2much behind the scenes for our first HIE profile.
HIE: So whats your favorite club banger right now?
-If I’m spinning at a club and its the rnb/dance scene I’d probably play OMG with Usher. For the Hip Hop clubs its definitely anything with Drake, sometimes i basically just wanna fuck shit up on purpose and play songs like Kriss Kross Jump or Milli Vanilli Girl you know its true…haha
HIE: Life on tour can be pretty boring between shows. How do you keep your fun level up?
-I always got my laptop so i play computer games but lately I’ve become addicted to twitter, i can basically keep myself entertained for hours just reading other peoples tweets.
HIE: Whats the craziest thing you remember to ever happen on stage?
-Crazy shit always happen on stage especially when you are Djing for Ken Ring. Two weeks ago in Sthlm a show turned violent and the crowd started fighting, someone pulled a gun and started shooting inside the venue. The police and security had to wait for reinforcement before securing the place but we barely noticed the ruckus and kept on playing when people were running for the exit.
HIE: What are you working on right now?
-I’m currently in the progress of finishing 2 mixtapes, one with a Swedish based rapper called Finess and one with well known producer Qwan who has produced artists like M.O.P. and Memphis Bleek.
I’ve also decided not to continue as the tour Dj for Ken Ring anymore since i have more of my own projects now but i will not reveal anything yet. I also finished working on a mixtape called Whiteboyfresh where i produced vol 1 & 2 and a teaser for vol 3.
HIE: What has been the highlight of the summer?
-Me getting contacted by Memphis Bleek telling me he wants me to do his next mixtape. and my tour dates in NYC in November.
HIE: Name your favorite European Hip Hop/R&b artist!
-Since im a Swedish native its definitely Pato Pooh And Ken Ring. If it has to be someone i don’t know personally its British rapper Kano. I love his music.
HIE: What has been “the” drink for the clubs this summer and what should we drink for fall/winter?
-Ive been drinking ace of spades champagne alot on tour in the states its just crazy but i do recommend you to try Diddys Ciroc vodka, Diddy knows what he is doing.
